Members of the British Residents’ Association, together with other British Nationals resident in Ticino, were invited to meet Ambassador
Sarah Gillett and Consul General Ian Swann, on 28 May. This was to hear about changes in the consular network, particularly with regard to
Switzerland. We met in the garden of the Grand Hotel Villa Castagnola over coffee, soft drinks and petits fours, kindly offered by the British Embassy in Berne. We were grateful for the opportunity to talk to our Ambassador and Consul General and put our questions to them in a relaxed environment.
Our former Honorary Consul, Peter Steimle, now called Consular Warden, also spoke and assured us of his continued help and support if ever it should be needed.
