The BRA has just been invited to join this special Preview “Behind the Scenes” of the Captain James Cook Exhibition – one month before the official opening in October. There will be a tour of the Exhibition which will show the preparations which are being made and how they are coping with the huge numberof valuable loaned exhibts from all over the world. We have the opportunity of joining one of the tours at 11.00. The tour lasts just over an hour and will be in German. As this is an invitation from the Museum, we do not pay an entrance fee. However, if anyone wishes to visit the rest of the Museum after, they would then pay the entrance.

It is suggested we have lunch together in the Museum bistro and nearer the time we will reserve a table. Meet in the Lobby at 10.50 am Historisches Museum, Helvetiaplatz 5, Berne. From the Station take Tram nr.3 or 5 and descend at the Helvetiaplatz which is just across the bridge. Parking all around the museum and as it is Sunday it is free. Please send your reservation to secretary@britishresidents.ch by Friday, 10 September or go to the Events page
